Who I am

Fair Home Cleaning Services is a trading name of Scarlett Fairholme, a sole trader based in Silverstone, Northamptonshire. I am the data controller for the information described in this policy.

What I collect

• When you enquire — your name, phone number, postcode, the service you're interested in, and anything you choose to tell me in the message box. Your email address only if you give it.
• If you become a customer — your address, access arrangements, any key or alarm details we agree, notes about your property and preferences, and a record of visits and payments.
• When you use this website — anonymous, aggregated visit statistics. No cookies are used for analytics and you are not tracked between visits.

Why I collect it, and my lawful basis

• To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, and where relevant taking steps at your request before entering a contract. My legitimate interest is responding to someone who has asked me to get in touch.
• To provide the cleaning service you've booked. Lawful basis: performance of our contract.
• To keep proper business and tax records. Lawful basis: legal obligation.

I do not send marketing emails or texts, and I do not add enquirers to any mailing list. If that ever changes I'll ask for your consent first.

Who I share it with

I don't sell your information or share it for anyone else's marketing. I use a small number of service providers who process data on my behalf:

• Web3Forms — delivers the website enquiry form to my inbox
• Vercel — hosts this website
• My accountant, for tax and bookkeeping purposes

I may also disclose information where I'm legally required to.

How long I keep it

• Enquiries that don't become bookings — 12 months, then deleted
• Customer records — 6 years after our arrangement ends, matching the period in which a contract claim could be brought
• Accounting and tax records — at least 5 years after the 31 January submission deadline for the relevant tax year, as HMRC requires of the self-employed
• Key and alarm details — destroyed as soon as our arrangement ends

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• Ask for a copy of the information I hold about you
• Ask me to correct anything inaccurate
• Ask me to delete it, where I have no ongoing reason to keep it
• Ask me to restrict how I use it
• Object to my use of it where I rely on legitimate interests
• Ask for it in a portable format

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies, and no analytics cookies. Nothing is stored on your device that would require your consent, which is why you aren't shown a cookie banner. If that changes, I'll ask before anything is set.
